Sensor in hand – what fits your slot
E2EX2D1U2MOMS is an Omron E2E-X series M8 inductive proximity sensor – flush mounted, rated for 2 mm sensing distance at 1.5 kHz switching. Its dry-contact NO output (make contact) handles up to 100 mA on a 10–30 V supply. The stainless steel housing, IP67 sealing, and 2 m cable make it a direct fit for tight spaces in washdown or mild corrosive environments.
Why the output type matters
This sensor delivers a mechanical make-contact (NO) signal, not a PNP transistor output. If your PLC input expects a sinking 3-wire DC signal, the E2BS08KS02MCB120OMS (same M8 flush mount, stainless, 2 mm, but PNP NO at 200 mA) will require wiring changes – different load current limit and output logic. The dry contact here is simpler for two-wire circuits or relay-based inputs, but verify the load stays under 100 mA. Against the larger M12 E2EX5MY12MOMS: non-flush, 5 mm sense, 25 Hz, 264 V max – fundamentally different mounting and detection. No drop-in swap without panel modifications.
