What this sensor is
Omron E2EX30MB3DL30M1OMS from the E2E-Next series, an inductive proximity sensor in an M30 cylindrical brass housing (non-flush mount). Output is PNP, configurable as normally open or normally closed (NO/NC). Sensing distance is 30 mm. Power via M12 4-pin connector, 10–30 VDC supply, 20 mA quiescent, 100 mA load. Switching frequency 100 Hz. Rated IP67 and IP69K for high-pressure washdown.
How it compares to E2Q6N30MF3HOEE
Both sense 30 mm and offer NO/NC output, but the E2Q6 is a rectangular plastic sensor with a terminal block, flush-mount rated. This E2E-Next is M30 cylindrical brass, non-flush, with an M12 connector. Not a mechanical swap: hole pattern, mounting footprint, and termination differ. Environmental ratings differ: this sensor covers -40 to 85 °C and IP69K; the E2Q6 is -25 to 70 °C and IP67 only. For high-temperature or high-pressure washdown zones, prefer the E2EX30MB3DL30M1OMS. Switching frequency is the same 100 Hz.
Mounting and wiring notes
M30 barrel requires a 30 mm clearance hole for non-flush installation. Leave free space around the face per the manufacturer's derating curve. M12 4-pin connector: wire per the pinout for PNP NO/NC. Operating temperature range -40 to 85 °C; no derating needed within that band. IP69K demands a properly torqued M12 mating connector. Switching at 100 Hz handles typical position sensing on conveyors, gates, or part detection.
