What this sensor is and how it fits your line
The Omron E2EX4MB1T85MOMS is an inductive proximity sensor from the E2E-Next series—PNP normally-open output, 4 mm sensing range, non-flush mounting in an M8 stainless steel barrel. It comes with a 5 m cable and carries IP67, IP67G, and IP69K ingress ratings, so it handles high-pressure washdown without a second thought. The sensing distance and non-flush mount are the first things to check against your target material and mounting hole: non-flush means it needs space around the sensing face—if your old sensor was flush, you can't just swap the barrel.
Key ratings that actually drive the fit
Non-flush mounting gives you a longer sensing range for a given barrel size but requires a clearance zone around the sensor head—usually at least the diameter of the barrel. If your bracket was machined for a flush-mount sensor, the E2EX4MB1T85MOMS won't sit right without an adapter. Stainless steel housing and the IP69K seal make it a natural for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical washdown zones; the -40 to 85 °C range covers hot CIP cycles and cold storage. Switching frequency of 1 kHz is fast enough for most counting and position-sensing on a packaging line, but if you need sub-millisecond response on a high-speed servo indexer, this sensor might miss pulses—check your minimum target dwell. The 200 mA load current is typical for a sensor output; it directly drives a PLC input or a small relay but won't handle a contactor coil without an interposing relay.
