What it is and what it does
The Omron E2EX50MB1TL30M1OMS is an inductive proximity sensor from the E2E series, built in an M30 threaded barrel with a non-flush mount. It delivers a 50 mm sensing distance — the longest available in the M30 E2E line for non-flush variants — and switches at up to 100 Hz. Output is PNP, normally open, over a 10–30 V supply range. The M12 connector saves panel wiring time compared to pigtail versions. Housing is brass nickel-plated, rated IP67 for washdown zones.
Where it fits and where it doesn't
Compared to the flush-mount E2EX22B1T30M1OMS (22 mm sensing, 200 Hz), the 50 mm non-flush version nearly doubles the sensing range but requires an unshielded installation — the target must approach from one side only, and metal around the barrel steals range. The 95 mm barrel length (vs. 58 mm on the flush peer) places the nut further back on the bracket. Same M30 thread, same M12 connector, same voltage and temperature range. If the original spec called for a flush sensor, the non-flush will not drop in without reworking the mounting and re-evaluating the gap; if the panel has clearance, the extra reach simplifies detection through thin non-metallic walls or over longer distances.
