5 mm sensing range, 800 Hz — what that means on the line
The Omron E2EX5MB1TL12M1OMS is an M12 inductive proximity sensor from the E2E-Next series, with a 5 mm flush sensing distance on mild steel. At 800 Hz switching frequency, it catches targets on a conveyor moving at line speed without the PLC missing edges — the output pulse width stays wide enough for a standard 24 VDC input card. Output is PNP normally open, rated 200 mA continuous load current. That 200 mA drives a small relay or PLC input directly; the 16 mA current consumption is the sensor's own draw from the 10–30 VDC supply rail.
IP67 and IP69K — washdown without the worry
Rated IP67 and IP69K, the brass nickel-plated housing and M12 connector seal withstands high-pressure hot-water washdown cycles common in food-and-beverage or washdown zones. The IP69K rating means the sensor body and optics survive 80 °C water at 80–100 bar — the connector O-ring is the wet-end barrier, not the housing thread.
