Omron E2EX5MY12MOMS is an M12 inductive proximity sensor from the E2E-X series with a brass housing, 2 m cable, NO output, 5 mm sensing distance, non-flush mount, 20–264 V supply, 200 mA load, 25 Hz switching, IP67, -25 to 70 °C range.
How it compares to the nearest sibling
The closest cross-shop candidate is the E2EX2Y12MOMS – same barrel, same cable, same IP67 and frequency. Two differences change the installation: the E2EX5MY12MOMS is non-flush with 5 mm sensing versus a flush 2 mm on the sibling. If your panel already has a flush pocket or you need full temperature range (-40 °C vs -25 °C), the E2EX2Y12MOMS is a better fit. But if you need the extra reach and the sensor head can stand proud of surrounding steel, the 5 mm version gives you more margin on target distance.
Mounting and wiring notes
Non-flush mount means you need at least the sensing distance (5 mm) of free space around the sensor face in all directions to avoid derating. The M12 barrel is 21 mm across, same as the flush siblings, so existing mounting holes swap physically. Cable is 2 m, rated for continuous flex – tie off at the connector end to avoid strain on the brass threads. IP67 handles high-pressure washdown, but seal the mating connector to maintain that rating.
