The Omron E2EX7D2122MOMS is a flush-mount M12 inductive sensor that detects ferrous targets at 7 mm — unusually long for a shielded housing. Its normally closed output (NC) is the less common variant, used where a broken wire or loss of power must trigger a safety stop. Rated IP67 / IP67G / IP69K, the nickel-plated brass barrel and 2 m cable survive high-pressure washdown cycles. Switching frequency hits 350 Hz, fast enough for link-conveyor timing or rotary-index checking.

Mounting & wiring check

Flush-mount install: no derating for metal surroundings; 21 mm barrel fits standard M12 clamp. Cable is 2 m, PVC, pre-wired. The NC output is a two-wire DC configuration: verify that your load expects a closed-to-open transition on target presence, not open-to-closed. Supply must be 10–30 VDC; the sensor draws 100 mA at most. The IP69K rating holds only if the cable gland and face are free of damage — inspect the sealing surface before dropping into a washdown zone.

Frequently asked questions

Will the E2EX5MY12MOMS drop into a panel wired for this sensor?

Physically yes — same M12 thread and mounting dimensions. But the output logic is opposite: this sensor is normally closed (NC); the peer is normally open (NO). You would need to reverse the wiring or invert the PLC input. Also, the peer requires a wider supply range (20–264 V) and has a different sensing distance (5 mm non-flush). For a pure NC DC circuit, only this sensor fits.

What is the sensing range at the operating voltage?

Rated 7 mm for a mild steel target at 10–30 VDC. Repeat accuracy is ±10%, and switching frequency is 350 Hz. No linearity curve required for a proximity sensor.

What protection ratings does this sensor carry?
