This is the E2E-Next series flush-mount M18 inductive proximity sensor, order code E2EX8B1T185MOMS. It switches a PNP normally-open output at 500 Hz when it detects a metal target within 8 mm. The 5 m PVC cable suits longer wiring runs in wet environments; the housing is brass nickel-plated to stand up to corrosion, and the triple ingress rating (IP67/IP67G/IP69K) means it can be hose-down cleaned and survive gases – important for wastewater lift stations and food-processing washdown zones.
Cable length vs alternatives
The only parametric difference between the 5 m cable variant and the 2 m sibling (E2EX8B1T182MOMS) is cable length; both are 55.3 mm long. The M12 connector variant (E2EX8B1T18M1OMS) is 53 mm long and rated IP67/IP69K but not IP67G; if the application requires gas ingress protection (sewage gas, chemical atmospheres), the cable version is the one to specify.
Mounting and integration notes
Flush mounting: the sensor can be embedded in a metal panel without the typical sensing distance reduction that non-flush sensors need. Works on 10–30 VDC, draws 16 mA plus the 200 mA load. The 500 Hz switching frequency handles fast-moving parts on conveyor lines.
