M18 inductive sensor for washdown zones
The Omron E2EX8B2185MOMS is a flush-mount M18 inductive sensor from the E2E-Next series, delivering an 8 mm sensing distance at 500 Hz switching frequency — enough to see containers at line speed without missing a beat. Its PNP normally-closed output suits fail-safe loops, and the brass nickel-plated housing with IP67/IP69K shrugs off the spray on a bottling filler.
If you’re cross-shopping the E2AM12KS04M1B14OMS (M12, 4 mm distance, 1 kHz, connector), the E2EX8B2185MOMS covers nearly double the sensing range but switches at half the frequency. The bigger difference is the mounting hole: M18 vs M12. Dropping this into a panel drilled for the M12 means a larger hole or adapter; the cable termination (5 m pigtail instead of M12 connector) also changes the wiring.
