The E2KQ-X10ME1 is an Omron capacitive proximity sensor built for detecting non-metallic materials — plastics, liquids, glass, wood. Output is NPN normally open, 3-wire, so it sinks current to ground when a target enters the sensing field, a standard interface for PLC sinking inputs. Sensing distance is adjustable across 6 mm to 10 mm, though the actual reach depends on the target material's dielectric constant. Unshielded construction means the field projects forward without a flush-mount shield; plan for side clearance around the sensing face. Supply voltage runs 10 to 30 VDC.
