Sensing distances and amplifier pairing
The Omron E32-D11L 2M is a through-beam fiber optic sensor unit with a 2 m cable, designed for use with Omron fiber amplifiers. Its effective sensing distance depends entirely on which amplifier it's paired with: 90 mm with an HS-type amplifier, 150 mm with ST, 30 mm with SHS, and 360 mm with GIGA. That GIGA figure is the one to note for long-range detection through small apertures or dirty environments — it gives you headroom for alignment tolerance.
The four sensing-distance figures (HS 90, ST 150, SHS 30, GIGA 360) aren't independent specs — they're the range this fiber achieves when used with the corresponding Omron amplifier model. If your existing line uses an E3X-HD or similar GIGA-class amplifier, expect 360 mm of through-beam reach. If you're swapping into a panel with an older HS amplifier, you're limited to 90 mm. That's the key fit check: match the amplifier type, not just the fiber.
