What it is and what it does
The E32-T16P is a through-beam fiber optic sensor head rated for 3300 mm sensing distance, with a 2 m high-flex cable and 11 mm sensing height. It's used for detecting objects in tight spaces or harsh environments where standard photoelectric sensors won't fit — the fiber core lets you separate the electronics from the sensing tip. Through-beam gives you the longest range and most reliable detection of any sensing mode — the emitter and receiver are separate, so there's no reflection to worry about. The 3300 mm distance covers most conveyor or machine gap applications I've seen in small shops.
Cable and installation notes
The 2 m high-flex fiber cable is jacketed to withstand repeated bending. Good for routing through cable carriers or around moving machine axes. The 11 mm sensing height is the lens aperture — keep that in mind when aligning the emitter and receiver on your brackets. No special tools needed for termination — the fiber ends are pre-cut and polished. Mount the amplifier (sold separately) back in the cabinet, run the fiber to the sensing point. The high-flex rating means you won't get fatigue cracks in the jacket after a few thousand cycles.
Sourcing and lifecycle
If you need a replacement or a second for a new build, quote it against an RFQ. The 2 m cable length is the standard offering; other lengths exist in the series but this is the common one for most machine builders.
