What this fiber head seals
The Omron E32-T16PR is a thru-beam fiber optic sensor head — the end that points at the target, not the amplifier. Heat-resistant ABS housing means it can sit near a hot process line (ovens, mold platens) without the plastic softening or yellowing. Sensing width is 11 mm, so the light beam is collimated to that gap; anything smaller than 11 mm won't trigger reliably unless you slow the amplifier response. Ambient operating range covers -40 to 70°C, which spans freezer warehouses up to foundry ambient. No derating needed for outdoor enclosures in most climates.
