E32T162M is a through-beam fiber sensor head with a 4 m rated sensing distance. That range is the headline – it covers long conveyor gaps or large machine openings where a standard diffuse sensor won't reach. Cable is 2 m, PVC sheathed, held in with an M4 screw. IP67 means it survives washdown cycles if the connector is torqued correctly.
Lifecycle & sourcing
Marked as mature on the lifecycle stage. That means production is stable – no pending phase-out, but not a new-generation part either. Sourcing is straightforward: quoted to order against a BOM line. Expect consistent supply; no last-time-buy pressure.
Mounting & wiring
Head mounts with an M4 screw – check your bracket thread. The 2 m cable is enough for most panels; if you need longer, plan on an intermediate junction box. Wire into a fiber amplifier (e.g., E3X series) using the standard 2 mm fiber core. IP67 seal works only if the cable gland at the amplifier side is also rated.
