The Omron E3F1DP21OMI is a diffuse reflective photoelectric sensor with a 100 mm sensing distance on a standard white target — that range covers part-present detection on small assembly fixtures, box fill on conveyors, or level sensing inside a hopper where the target is within a handspan of the lens. Response time is 500 µs, so it catches objects moving past at line speeds up to about 2 m/s without the PLC input missing the edge — fast enough for most packaging and material-handling pick cycles. Output is NPN, light-ON or dark-ON selectable via the wiring — common in Asian-origin panels and older North American PLC input cards that sink to common.
M12 termination and IP66 — washdown-ready, not submersible
Termination is a 4-pin M12 connector — mates with standard M12 cordsets, so you can swap the sensor without pulling wire back through the conduit. The IP66 rating means it handles hose-down cleaning and rain, but not continuous immersion; fine for food processing washdown zones and outdoor covered installations. Body length is 34.5 mm — short enough to mount in tight bracket spaces on a pick-and-place arm or inside a machine guard frame.
