Omron E3FA-TN21 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor set covering a 20 m range with a 0.5 msec response time, enough for fast-moving objects on conveyor lines or long-distance presence detection. The NPN output and selectable light-on/dark-on switching let it match most PLC discrete inputs without a logic inverter. IP67 and IP69K sealing means this sensor survives washdown cycles and high-pressure cleaning — common in food processing or automotive paint shops. The M12 connector simplifies replacement; no need to pull new cable through the gland plate if the harness is intact.
Mounting and wiring notes
Right-angle orientation emits the beam perpendicular to the barrel. The M18 body and 4-pin M12 connector handle 10–30 V DC supply with 100 mA NPN output.
