What this sensor does and where it fits
The Omron E3FB-DP23 is a diffuse photoelectric sensor on an M18 threaded brass barrel, rated for 1 m sensing distance on a 7 mm opaque target. PNP output, 100 mA load capacity, and a 0.5 msec response time make it a direct fit for most DC inputs on PLCs and counters. The right-angle M12 connector keeps the cable path low-profile against the machine frame. IP67 and IP69K ratings mean this sensor holds up to high-pressure washdown in food, beverage, or outdoor installations — no need for an additional enclosure in most wash zones. The brass body resists corrosion better than a plastic barrel in these environments.
Mounting and wiring notes
The M18 threaded nut mounts through a standard 18 mm hole or bracket. The 48 mm overall height leaves room in a crowded panel. The right-angle M12 connector exits perpendicular to the barrel axis, so the cable lays flat against the machine surface — useful when the sensor is mounted in a slot or channel. Four pins: brown (10-30V DC), blue (0V), black (PNP output), white (selectable light-on/dark-on). A short-circuit and reverse-polarity-protected output eliminates nuisance fuse blowing during commissioning. The 0.5 msec response time and 7 mm minimum object size suit general-purpose part detection.
