The E3FB-TP112M is a through-beam photoelectric sensor set — transmitter and receiver — in Omron’s E3FB series. It throws a 20 m red-light beam and reliably detects opaque objects down to 7 mm diameter. The 18 mm M18 threaded brass cylinder is sealed to IP67 and IP69K, so it survives washdown and high-pressure cleaning in food or packaging lines. Output is PNP, 10-30V DC supply, 100 mA load max. Selectable Light On / Dark On covers both presence and absence detection. Response time is 0.5 msec — fast enough for counting applications.
How it compares to close peers
The E3FB-TN112M is the same physical sensor with NPN output instead of PNP. If your PLC input card expects a sinking signal, go with the TN112M; otherwise everything else — M18 thread, 20 m range, 2 m cable, brass body, IP ratings — is identical. The E3FB-TP21 keeps the PNP output but swaps the 2 m cable for an M12 connector, useful on conveyor sections or turntables that get frequently swapped for cleaning.
Listed as current production. CE marked per the spec table. Built-in protection against output short circuits and reverse polarity on both supply and output — no external diode needed.
M18 threaded body mounts through a 18 mm hole. Overall height 44 mm. Cable exits via right-angle face — pull the 2 m bare-wire lead to your terminal block. Strip and terminate as per your panel wiring. Selectable switching mode via a control lead or programming (refer to the sensor’s connection diagram).
