What this sensor gives you
The Omron E3FBDP122MOMI is a diffuse reflective photoelectric sensor with a 300 mm sensing range and PNP output. It runs on 10–30 VDC, sinks or sources 100 mA, and switches in 500 µs. The light source is a Red LED, and you can select Light-ON or Dark-ON operation. The housing is rated IP69K and IP67, so it survives high-pressure washdown and full immersion. That makes it a candidate for food processing lines, car washes, and wastewater lift stations where hose-down is routine.
How it compares to the connector variant (E3FBDP22OMI)
If you’ve been specifying E3FBDP22OMI (M12 connector, 48 mm long) and are considering this cable-terminated E3FBDP122MOMI, the key differences are termination and length. The E3FBDP22OMI uses a 4-pin M12 connector and is 4 mm longer. Sensing performance is identical: both are PNP, 300 mm range, 500 µs response, same voltage/current and IP rating. Swapping from the connector variant to the cable variant changes termination: cable needs a gland or splice; connector needs a mating cordset. The cable version is 4 mm shorter (44 mm vs 48 mm), but width remains 18 mm.
Integration and mounting
Mount the sensor so the lens stays clear of build-up — the diffuse reflective design means no reflector, but the emitter and receiver share the same window. The 18 mm width fits standard brackets, the IP69K housing requires a proper gland seal, and the operating temperature is -25 to 55 °C.
