The Omron E3FBDP21OMI is a diffuse reflective photoelectric sensor with a 100 mm sensing range, a 500 µs response time, PNP output, and an M12 4-pin connector. It runs on 10–30 VDC and sinks up to 100 mA, enough to drive a PLC input directly. The red LED emitter makes alignment visible during commissioning, and the light-ON / dark-ON selectable switching covers both presence and gap detection.
Where it lands
Standard fit for part-present detection on conveyors, packaging machines, and automated assembly stations. The 100 mm range works well for close-in object sensing where background suppression isn't critical. IP67 and IP69K ratings let it survive high-pressure washdown cycles, so it belongs in food, beverage, and washdown zones where earlier sensors like old E3Z types would fail.
