What it is and where it sits
The Omron E3NXMA112MOMS is a fibre amplifier unit in the E3NX-MA series, designed to pair with remote fibre-optic cables so the sensing head can reach small targets, tight spaces, or harsh zones while the amplifier body stays in the panel. It emits a red LED source and offers selectable Light-ON / Dark-ON switching, so the same device covers registration-mark detection and standard presence detection without re-specifying.
Electrical envelope for input-card and load planning
Supply runs 10 V to 30 V DC. The NPN output sinks up to 100 mA into the load, and the amplifier responds in 100 us.
Footprint, cabling and environmental limits
The body is 10 mm wide by 33.5 mm high by 71.8 mm long, so a strip of these drops into a slim DIN-rail cutout without crowding the gland plate. The 2 m pigtail cable terminates inside the cabinet, and IP50 sealing means the amplifier itself is meant for the panel interior, not for washdown — keep the fibre head in the field, the electronics in the enclosure. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 55 °C, which covers most cabinet interiors near motors and heaters.
Same-housing PNP alternative
The E3NXMA412MOMS is the PNP twin in the same E3NX-MA housing — identical 10 mm by 33.5 mm by 71.8 mm footprint, identical 10–30 V supply, 100 mA load and 100 us response. The only decision-relevant difference is output polarity (PNP versus this unit's NPN), so swapping one for the other is a wiring change at the PLC input card, not a panel rework.
