The OMRON E3S-CR61 is a retroreflective photoelectric sensor from the E3S-C series, with a right-angle head that sends the beam sideways for side-mount installations. It delivers 3 m maximum range, uses red light, and outputs both NPN and PNP signals from a single 2 m prewired cable. Selectable light-on/dark-on switching mode covers most PLC input requirements without extra logic.
Integration notes
Mounting: two M4 bolts through the rectangular zinc body (20 mm wide, 57 mm overall height). The right-angle face requires the bracket to hold the sensor body perpendicular to the target path. The 2 m non-terminated cable allows direct termination in a junction box; no connector to fuss with. Supply 10-30 VDC; load current limited to 40 mA. IP67 / NEMA 6P: hose-down safe, suitable for conveyor and packaging lines.
