The Omron E3SCD11 is a diffuse photoelectric sensor from the E3S-C series, rated for 700 mm sensing distance with a 1 msec response time, making it a fast option for presence detection in tight-cycle applications like part-present verification on a conveyor. Outputs are selectable NPN or PNP from the same four-wire cable, so it drops into either sinking or sourcing PLC input cards without a converter. Power is 10-30V DC; the prewired 2 meter cable is bare wire, ready for terminal blocks. The zinc housing with IP67 and NEMA 6P ratings means it survives coolant spray and hose-down cleaning on a production cell.

Output load current is limited to 40 mA, so it drives direct into a PLC input or a small relay; larger inductive loads need an interposing relay.
