The E3SCR66OMS is an Omron E3S-C series retro-reflective photoelectric sensor with a 3 m sensing range, housed in a 23×20×57 mm rectangular body. It operates on 10–30 V DC and delivers a configurable NPN or PNP output, selectable for light-ON or dark-ON logic. The M12 4-pin connector allows quick disconnect without opening the panel, and the IP67 rating handles washdown environments.
How it compares to the cabled E3S-CR61
The closest retro-reflective sibling is the E3S-CR61, which shares the same 3 m range, 10–30 V supply, and dual NPN/PNP output. The critical difference is termination: the E3S-CR61 uses a fixed 2 m bare-wire cable, while the E3SCR66OMS terminates in an M12 4-pin connector. That means the E3SCR66OMS drops into a panel with pre-run M12 cord sets; swapping to the CR61 requires removing the connector and splicing wires. The E3SCR66OMS also carries a higher load current (100 mA vs 40 mA), making it suitable for directly driving small relays.
The M12 4-pin connector mates to standard A-coded cordsets (pinout per Omron wiring diagram). The sensor accepts 10–30 V DC; the output switches 100 mA max. With selectable light/dark logic and both NPN/PNP in one unit, this one part can serve both sinking and sourcing PLC inputs across different line builds.
