Omron E3SR86 is a retroreflective photoelectric sensor from the E3S series, with a visible red LED beam and PNP output. It detects objects up to 1 m away using a reflector, with a 1 ms response time on M12 connector termination. Supply range is 10–30 VDC, load current 100 mA, and the housing is IP67 rated for damp or dusty areas.
Drop-in note vs E3SR87
Mechanical footprint is identical to the infrared E3SR87 (29.2×50 mm, M12 connector, same bracket pattern). The key delta is sensing range: E3SR86 reaches 1 m with a red beam, while E3SR87 is limited to 300 mm with infrared light. If your application needs the longer throw or a visible alignment beam, E3SR86 swaps directly onto the same mount without rewiring.
