The Omron E3T-FT13 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor set — transmitter and receiver in one rectangular PBT body, right-angle face, prewired with a 2-meter bare-wire cable. It runs on 12-24V DC, switches PNP light-on, and detects opaque objects as small as 1.3 mm diameter at up to 500 mm. The IP67 seal keeps out coolant splash and dust on a lube route or a washdown line.
The 500 mm sensing distance is enough for most conveyor gap detection or part-present checks on a packaging line — but it's not a long-range guard sensor. The 1 msec response catches objects moving at moderate line speeds; if you're counting fast-moving parts on a high-speed pick-and-place, you'll want something faster. PNP output (sourcing) matches most PLC input cards; just remember it's light-on only — no dark-on selection. Load current tops out at 50 mA, so if you're driving a small relay or indicator directly, check the coil draw. The 12-24V DC supply is standard for industrial panels, but it's DC-only — don't feed it AC.
Built for the grease and the washdown
The IP67 rating allows the sensor to withstand hose-down cleaning and dusty environments. The PBT body resists industrial oils and mild chemicals. Operating temperature range is -13°F to 131°F. The built-in indicator light provides visual alignment and target detection.
