The Omron E3T-SL14 is a convergent-reflective miniature photoelectric sensor providing a PNP output, with a sensing distance rated at 5 to 15 mm on a 50x50 mm white paper target. Response time is 1 ms max, suitable for moderate-speed detection of small parts. Operating voltage is 12 to 24 VDC ±10% with 20 mA max current consumption. The red LED light source (650 nm) and minimum detectable object of 0.15 mm diameter at 10 mm make it appropriate for applications requiring detection of fine features in constrained panel spaces.
Compared to the E3T-SL24
The closest PNP sibling, the E3T-SL24, shares the same miniature square housing, supply voltage, and output type, but its sensing distance extends to 5–30 mm and its hysteresis is wider at 6 mm max versus 2 mm max for the SL14. If the application requires repeatable positioning within a 2 mm window and the target is consistently within 15 mm, the SL14 delivers tighter hysteresis. For longer-range sensing where some hysteresis is permissible, the SL24 is the alternative. Both sensors mount in the same footprint; the SL24 will physically fit where the SL14 was installed, but the different detection characteristics must be verified against the application's range and repeatability requirements.
