Fast, tight, NPN — what this sensor brings to the line
The E3T-SL22M: Sensing distance sits at 5 to 30 mm on a 50 × 50 mm white target, so this part is designed for short-range detection where you need a defined spot, not a diffuse spray. The NPN open-collector output handles load current up to 50 mA max at 26.4 VDC max, with residual voltage under 2 V at 10–50 mA — ensure your PLC input module sinks NPN and can handle that voltage drop. Response time is 1 ms max for operate or reset, enough for conveyor part counting or gate sensing on a moderate-speed line.
Different sensor, different job — not a drop-in for the E3Z diffuse line
The E3Z-D62K-M3J and E3Z-R61K-M3J are also different animals: one is a long-range diffuse (3 m), the other retro-reflective. If your panel was wired for any of these, the E3T-SL22M won't physically match the connector or the sensing zone — it's its own form factor.
