Fiber amplifier for existing installs
The Omron E3X-HD41 2M is a fiber amplifier unit from the E3X-HD series, designed to work with Omron fiber-optic sensing heads. It uses a red 4-element LED light source at 625 nm for through-beam, retro-reflective, or diffuse sensing depending on the fiber attached. Power supply is 12 to 24 VDC ±10% with ripple (P-P) 10% max — a standard industrial voltage range that matches most PLC and sensor supply rails without a separate regulator. Connection is via a pre-wired 2 m cable, which simplifies replacement in existing panels where the cable route is already pulled. No separate connector or field-wiring terminal block to source.
Protection and environmental limits
Degree of protection is IEC 60529 IP50 with the protective cover attached — dust-protected but not sealed against water ingress. This suits dry indoor cabinet mounting, not washdown or outdoor exposure without an additional enclosure. Operating and storage ambient humidity range is 35% to 85% with no condensation. The shock resistance rating is 500 m/s² for three times each in X, Y, and Z directions — robust enough for most machine-mounted applications on conveyors or packaging lines.
