20-30 µs response catches fast-moving targets
The E3X-NA41F 2M is a standard high-speed digital fiber amplifier from Omron's E3X-NA-F series, with a potentiometer-adjusted threshold and a response time of 20-30 µs max. That speed matters on a high-speed packaging or parts-handling line where a standard 1 ms photoelectric sensor would miss a target moving past at several meters per second. The PNP output means it sources positive voltage to the PLC input — common in European-sourced panels and most modern controls architectures. Supply voltage is 12-24 VDC, so it runs on the same rail as the rest of the 24 V control circuit.
L-ON / D-ON selectable — one part covers both logics
The operation mode is selectable between Light-ON and Dark-ON, so a single amplifier handles both a part-present (light-on) and a gap-detection (dark-on) application without a second order code. The red LED light source is visible during alignment — you see the beam spot on the target or reflector, which speeds up setup compared to infrared. A built-in timer adds on-delay, off-delay, or one-shot functionality directly in the amplifier, avoiding an external timing relay in the panel.
