What it is and what it does
The Omron E3Z-D81-M1J 0.3M is a diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor from the E3Z series, with a sensing distance adjustable from 5mm to 100mm using a single-turn potentiometer. Output is PNP, selectable between Dark-ON and Light-ON, making it compatible with most PLC inputs and allowing polarity configuration without an extra inverter. Rated IP67, so it can be mounted in washdown areas or dusty environments without an additional enclosure. Powered by 12–24 VDC, with a 1 ms response time; the infrared light source at 860 nm provides decent performance on matte surfaces.
