But this is retroreflective; the diffuse sibling (E3Z-D81-M1J 0.3M) uses infrared and senses directly from the target surface — no reflector. If the original BOM called for retroreflective, swapping to diffuse means removing the reflector and relying on target reflectivity. Wiring and footprint are identical; the optical decision is application-bound. The retroreflective model also carries IP69K; the diffuse variant is only IP67. For washdown lines, this matters.
