The E3ZB822MOMS is a retro-reflective photoelectric sensor from Omron's E3Z series, giving you 2 m of detection range against a reflector. It runs on 12–24 V, switches a PNP signal, and pulls up to 100 mA — standard for feeding a PLC sinking input. The 1 ms response keeps up with moderate-speed parts on conveyors; if you're tracking fast-moving targets, verify it is fast enough for your line speed. The IP67 rating means it handles washdown and dust without a secondary enclosure, but watch the 2 m cable — it's fixed, so plan your gland entry accordingly.
Sensor Choice at a Glance
For a shorter-range alternative, the E3ZB812MOMS shares the same housing, cable, output, and IP67, but its maximum sensing distance is 500 mm (versus 2 m here) and its minimum is 80 mm (versus 500 mm). If your target is closer than 500 mm, the B812 will work and may be a cheaper option. For longer reach, the E3ZR815MOMS stretches to 4 m but uses a 5 m cable — form factor is identical; check your cable length requirement before swapping.
