The Omron E3ZD81 is a diffuse photoelectric sensor from the E3Z series, delivering a 100 mm sensing range with a wide-beam infrared LED. It switches PNP outputs up to 100 mA, selectable for light-on or dark-on operation. The 1 msec response time suits high-speed part detection on conveyor or pick-and-place stations.
Diffuse sensing at 100 mm means the sensor detects objects within that range without a separate reflector — the target itself reflects the infrared beam back. The wide-beam feature spreads the emitted light, so it catches targets with irregular surfaces or slight misalignment, reducing false negatives on a mixed-product line. IP67 sealing means the PBT housing withstands washdown and dust ingress — rated for food-and-bev or wet machining environments. The right-angle face orientation and 2 m prewired cable simplify mounting in tight panel or machine frames. The 12-24V DC supply and PNP output are standard for most PLC digital inputs.
