The E5CC-CQ3A5M-003 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller that accepts RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC linear inputs — so it covers everything from a -200°C cryo bath to a 2300°C furnace on one part number. Three relay outputs handle on/off or alarm functions, the analog output drives a valve or SCR power controller, and the voltage pulse output fires an external SSR for fast heater cycling. That mix means you can close the loop on a single controller without adding a signal conditioner or interposing relay. RS-485 with both CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols ties directly into a plant SCADA or PLC network — no gateway module needed between the controller and the control room.

Heater fault detection — what it saves you
Built-in heater fault detection monitors the load current through a separate CT (not included) and flags a broken heater or SSR short before the process drifts. That saves the cost and panel space of an external current monitor and the wiring to a discrete alarm input.
