The E5CC-CQ3A5M-006 is an active Omron E5CC temperature/process controller accepting RTD and ten thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0–20mA or 0–10VDC analog inputs, covering –200°C to 2300°C. It controls with On/Off or PID, driving three relay outputs, one analog output, and a voltage pulse for an external SSR. An event input gives you a dry-contact trigger for alarms or remote setpoint switching. The dual-color LCD shows process value (0.600" characters) and setpoint or parameters (0.280"). Panel cutout is 45mm square, and the front is IP66-rated — splash-proof for washdown zones. Screw terminals, 100–240VAC supply. That's the bill. Now the real question: does this one fit your machine?
How it compares to the CX variant
The close sibling E5CC-CX3A5M-004 is nearly identical — same inputs, same three relays, same analog output, same event input, same cutout and IP66 — but it adds RS-485 communications with CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols. The CQ3A5M-006 lacks that serial port. If your panel expects a Modbus link to a PLC or HMI, you need the CX. If the controller is standalone or talks over analog, the CQ saves you from paying for a protocol you won't use. Value's in the sort: match the part to the bus requirement. Mechanically they drop into the same hole with the same wires.
Integration notes
Fits a 45mm square cutout; screw terminals, event input, and analog/voltage SSR outputs included. PID autotune is available.
