24 VAC/DC supply and output mix for single-loop control
The E5CC-CQ3D5M-007 runs on 24 VAC/DC — that is the main spec that separates it from the 100-240 VAC E5CC variants. If your panel already has a 24 V control transformer or a DC power supply, this controller drops in without an extra AC tap. Outputs are three relays, one analog signal, and a voltage pulse for an external SSR. That combination handles a typical heating/cooling loop: the analog output drives a valve or SCR power controller, the SSR pulse drives a solid-state contactor for fast cycling, and the relays manage alarms or auxiliary contactors. The event input lets you switch between two setpoints or hold the control loop from a dry contact — useful for recipe changeovers or manual override without a fieldbus connection.
Sensor and process signal compatibility
Input range covers thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W and RTDs from -200°C to 2300°C, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC process signals. That means one controller part number can be configured for a thermocouple in a kiln zone or a 4-20 mA pressure transmitter on the same panel spares list. The dual-row LCD shows four digits per row with 0.600" and 0.280" character heights — the larger digits are for the process value, the smaller for setpoint or status. The backlight changes color on alarm, so an operator sees a deviation from across the line without reading the number.
Panel cutout is 45.00 mm x 45.00 mm square — the standard E5CC footprint. If you are replacing an older Omron E5CS or E5CN, check the cutout; the E5CC is slightly larger and may need a punch or file to open the hole. The front panel is rated IP66 — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. That means it can be mounted on the door of a washdown-rated enclosure without a separate cover plate. The screw terminals are on the rear, so the IP rating applies only to the front bezel when properly gasketed.
