Panel fit and control logic
The E5CC-QQ3D5M-001 is a ⅛-DIN (45x45 mm panel cutout) process and temperature controller from Omron's E5CC series. It accepts RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, and also 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC linear inputs. Control is On/Off or proportional PID. The display shows dual-color characters, four digits per row. Supply voltage is 24 VAC/DC. This unit operates directly on 24 V control power. Outputs are three relay contacts and two voltage outputs for driving external SSRs. Combined with the Event Input and Heater Fault Detection feature set, the unit can monitor a heater current via optional CT and trip an alarm, or use the digital input to select a setpoint profile.
vs. E5CC-CX3A5M-004 – not a drop-in, but a targeted alternative
The E5CC-CX3A5M-004 shares the same cutout, display, and sensor input range, but its supply is 100–240 VAC, and its outputs are one analog (4–20 mA, etc.) plus three relays. It also includes RS-485 communications (CompoWay/F, Modbus). The -QQ3D5M-001 has no serial port and uses voltage outputs for external SSR instead of a local analog output. If your BOM calls for a 24 V controller with heater fault detection and SSR drive, the -QQ3D5M-001 is the correct choice. Swapping it into a panel wired for the CX model would require a supply change and possibly rewiring the output load.
