Sensor compatibility and signal range
The E5CC-QQ3D5M-007: Accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC process signals — covers the common sensor suite in a single part number, reducing spare stock complexity. Input range spans -200°C to 2300°C for thermocouples and 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC for process transmitters, so one controller handles both temperature loops and linear process variables like pressure or flow.
Outputs and control logic for the loop
Three relay outputs handle on/off or alarm switching for contactors or solenoid valves; two voltage-pulse outputs drive external SSRs for PID-controlled heating zones where cycle life matters. Control method selectable between on/off and proportional (PID) — the PID mode includes auto-tuning for loop settling without manual gain scheduling. The event input lets an external dry contact trigger a preset action like alarm acknowledge or set-point change, useful for tying the controller into a machine safety circuit.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
Panel cutout is 45.00 mm square — the standard 1/16 DIN footprint — so it retrofits into existing cutouts without panel rework. IP66 front-panel rating means the display and keypad survive washdown spray from hose-directed water, making it suitable for food-and-bev or washdown-area panels. Screw-terminal connections on the rear — no special crimp tooling needed for field wiring replacement.
Power supply and display readability
Runs on 24 VAC or 24 VDC — one supply rail serves both the controller and the field sensors, simplifying the control transformer spec. Dual-color LCD backlight with 0.600-inch and 0.280-inch character heights gives the process value and set-point readable from across a panel; four characters per row fit most engineering-unit displays. Operating ambient range -10°C to 55°C covers unheated plant-floor enclosures; the controller is rated for continuous indoor service within that band.
