The Omron E5CC-QX3A5M-006 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC linear inputs. It operates on a universal supply of 100 to 240 VAC and provides three relay outputs plus a voltage output for driving an external SSR.
What the outputs mean for your panel
Three relay outputs handle on/off or PID control of heaters, solenoid valves, or contactors. The fourth output is a voltage signal (typically 12 VDC or 24 VDC, depending on model variant) for an external solid-state relay — this is the output to use when you need fast cycling or zero-cross switching for resistive heater loads. Screw terminals at the rear accept the wiring; no crimp ferrules required but recommended for stranded conductors.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
The controller mounts in a standard 45.00 mm square panel cutout. The front bezel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water — so it can be installed on the face of a washdown-rated enclosure in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines.
Input flexibility and control modes
The universal input covers -200°C to 2300°C across all supported thermocouple types, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC for process signals. Control method is selectable between simple on/off and full PID with auto-tuning. The dual-color LCD shows two rows of four characters each — process value (PV) on the top, set point (SV) on the bottom — with 15.20 mm and 7.10 mm character heights.
