Universal input with three relay outputs
The Omron E5CC-RX2ABM-002 accepts RTD and eleven thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC analog signals, covering the range -200°C to 2300°C. That means one part number handles nearly any sensor you throw at it — thermocouple, RTD, or linear process signal — without swapping hardware. Three relay outputs handle on/off or PID control loops directly. For a typical heater or cooling valve, you get the control output plus an alarm or heater-fault detection output without adding an external relay.
RS-485 and spring-terminal wiring
RS-485 communications supports both CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols, so it talks to most PLCs and SCADA systems without a protocol converter. Spring-terminal termination (push-in style) speeds panel wiring — no screwdriver torque check, no loose connections on a vibrating panel door. The 45 mm square cutout fits the standard DIN 43700 panel opening. The IP66 front-panel rating means the controller survives washdown splashes and dusty environments — common on food, beverage, and packaging lines where a hose-down is part of the cleaning cycle.
Active production, no direct replacement
If you need screw terminals instead of spring terminals, the sibling E5CC-RX3A5M-003 carries the same input range and relay count but uses screw-clamp termination. That is the only functional difference between the two.
