The Omron E5CC-RX2ASM-000 is a 1/16 DIN panel-mount temperature controller that accepts RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC linear signals — covering the vast majority of process sensors used in ovens, furnaces, packaging lines, and HVAC skids. The three relay outputs let you drive a heater contactor, a cooling valve, and an alarm or event output without adding an external relay module. Rated IP66 on the front panel, the controller withstands washdown in food-and-beverage or pharmaceutical environments — the same rating that keeps water jets out of the electronics during line cleaning. Control method is On/Off or Proportional (PID), so you can tune for tight temperature regulation on a plastic extruder or simple bang-bang on a drying oven.

Peer comparison — when you need heater fault detection
The closest functional sibling in the E5CC family is the E5CC-QX2ASM-801. It shares the same sensor input range, PID control, panel cutout, and IP66 rating, but differs in output complement: two relays plus a voltage output for an external SSR, and it adds event input and heater fault detection. If your application requires monitoring heater current draw for broken-element alarms, the QX2ASM-801 is the better fit; the RX2ASM-000 with three relays is the simpler choice for basic on/off or PID control without current-sensing loops.
