What the E5CC-RX2DSM-802 handles in a panel
This is an Omron E5CC series digital temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC analog inputs, covering -200°C to 2300°C. Three relay outputs let you drive a heater contactor, an alarm, and a cooling valve independently — the heater fault detection feature monitors the load current and flags a broken heater element before the process drifts. RS-485 with CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols means this controller talks directly to a PLC or SCADA without an extra gateway; the 24 VAC/DC supply keeps the control transformer common with the rest of the panel.
Panel cutout and environmental sealing
Mounts in a standard 45 mm × 45 mm square panel cutout with screw terminals — no special tooling, just a punch and a screwdriver. IP66 rating means the front face resists hose-down and dust ingress, so it fits food-processing or washdown zones where a standard controller would fog up.
