What this controller covers
The Omron E5CC-RX3A5M-007 is a 1/16 DIN panel-mount process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple inputs (types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC linear signals, so it handles both oven profiling and pressure/flow loops from a single unit. Four relay outputs give you independent control of heat, cool, alarm, and event sequencing without adding external interposer relays for moderate loads. The dual-color LCD backlight shows two rows of four characters each, with the top row at 0.600" and the bottom at 0.280" — readable from across a panel for quick status checks.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
The IP66-rated front bezel means the controller survives washdown on food-processing or chemical lines — the gasket seals against hose-directed water, not just splash. Panel cutout is a 45.00 mm square.
Control modes and input flexibility
On/Off or proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control with auto-tune is selectable per loop — PID for tight thermal processes like reflow ovens, On/Off for simple tank heaters where overshoot is acceptable. Input range spans -200°C to 2300°C on thermocouples, so the same part number works on cryogenic chambers and high-temperature kilns. The event input on this variant lets an external dry contact trigger a preset ramp/soak profile or alarm mask — useful for tying a door interlock or start button directly into the controller logic.
