What the E5CC-RX3D5M-005 delivers in a panel
The Omron E5CC-RX3D5M-005 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus analog signals 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC, covering a span from -200°C up to 2300°C. That range covers most industrial heating processes — furnace zones, extruder barrels, ovens — without needing a separate signal conditioner. Power it from 24 VAC or 24 VDC; the universal supply simplifies wiring in panels that already run 24 V control voltage. Four relay outputs handle the load switching. Typical allocation: one for the main heating element, one for cooling (or alarm), and two spare for event-driven outputs like valve position or status indication. The event input feature lets an external dry contact switch between two setpoints or trigger a PID auto-tune cycle. Control method is selectable between On/Off and proportional (PID). The PID algorithm includes auto-tune, so commissioning is straightforward — cycle the power, trigger the event input, and the controller self-tunes the P, I, and D terms against the thermal load.
Mounts into a standard 45 mm × 45 mm square panel cutout. The IP66 front-panel seal means it withstands washdown spray — suitable for food-processing or wash-down zones where hose-down cleaning is routine. The screw-terminal rear connection is field-serviceable without special tools. The dual-color LCD backlight (green/red) gives a quick visual on process status — green for normal, red for alarm — visible from across the line.
