What this controller handles
The Omron E5CC-RX3D5M-006 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC linear process signals. That range covers most industrial temperature loops and analog transmitters in one unit. Four relay outputs give you independent control and alarm channels — typical for a heating/cooling zone with a high and low alarm, or a dual-stage process with event triggering. The event input lets an external dry contact override the setpoint or start a ramp-soak profile. Control method is selectable between on/off and full PID with auto-tune, so the same part works for simple tank level or a critical oven zone where overshoot matters.
Supply and panel fit
Runs on 24 VAC or 24 VDC — a single part that drops into either a transformer-based panel or a 24 VDC control bus without a separate power supply module. That universality simplifies BOM planning for mixed-voltage cabinets. Panel cutout is 45.00 mm square, the standard 1/16 DIN footprint. Screw terminals mean no special crimp tooling on the line; strip length and torque follow standard practice for 14–22 AWG. The front bezel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. Suitable for food-processing washdown zones or outdoor cabinets where condensation is a risk, as long as the rear of the panel is in a protected enclosure.
