Sensor inputs and control flexibility
The E5CC-TCQ3D5M-003 accepts RTD and thirteen thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) covering -200°C to 2300°C, plus 0–20mA and 0–10VDC process signals — one unit handles thermocouple, RTD, or transmitter inputs from the same screw terminals. Control method is On/Off or proportional (PID) with auto-tune, so you can set it for simple threshold switching or closed-loop regulation without swapping hardware. Outputs include analog (for driving a valve or SCR), three relay outputs, and a voltage pulse for external SSR — enough to run a heater plus alarm and event outputs from a single controller.
Panel fit and washdown rating
Panel cutout is a standard 45mm x 45mm square — drops into the same hole as other 1/16 DIN controllers, no adapter plate needed. IP66 front panel rating means the face and bezel survive washdown spray — suitable for food-and-bev lines or outdoor cabinets where hose-down cleaning is routine. Screw-terminal termination, 24VAC/DC supply — the universal AC/DC input simplifies panel wiring since you don't need a separate power supply for the controller if 24V is already on the rail.
Communications and heater fault detection
RS-485 port supports both Omron CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols — connects directly to a PLC or SCADA network without a protocol converter. Built-in heater fault detection monitors current draw on the load and flags a broken heater element or SSR short — saves a service call by catching failures before the process drifts. Dual-color LCD backlight with 0.600" and 0.280" character heights shows process value and setpoint simultaneously — readable from across the panel.
