Universal input, three-relay output architecture
The E5CC-TCX3A5M-000 accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC analog signals — one part covers most temperature and process inputs on a panel. Outputs are one analog signal (for driving a SCR or valve positioner) and three relays — typically one for the main heat/cool output and two for alarms or event triggers. That saves a separate alarm module on the DIN rail.
IP66 front panel for wet environments
Rated IP66 on the front face — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. This matters for food, beverage, and washdown zones where a standard NEMA 4X panel cutout is the norm. The rear of the controller is not sealed, so the panel gland plate still needs its own seal. Operating range is -10°C to 55°C ambient — fine for most indoor panel environments but tight for direct sun or unventilated enclosures near ovens. Plan for airflow if the panel interior runs above 50°C.
Active lifecycle, no end-of-life on record
Listed as current production — no discontinuation notice or last-time-buy window. For a BOM freeze, this part is stable through the typical product lifecycle of the E5CC-T series. The closest variant is the E5CC-TCX3A5M-005, which adds an event input terminal for remote start/hold or external setpoint switching. If your application does not need that trigger, the -000 is the cleaner choice — one less wire in the terminal block.
Panel cutout and wiring
Cutout is 45 mm square — standard 1/16 DIN. The screw terminals accept up to 14 AWG; no special crimp tooling needed. Supply is 100-240 VAC, so no separate control transformer is required for global panels. Display shows two rows of four characters each — 15.2 mm and 7.1 mm tall — readable from a few meters across a machine cell. Dual-color backlight (green/red) can indicate process status at a glance.
