What the 24V supply and sensor input mean for a panel fit
The E5CC-TCX3D5M-004: This is the 24 VAC/DC version of the E5CC-T, which means it runs straight off a control transformer or a 24 VDC power supply without needing a separate 100–240 VAC feed — a clean fit for a cabinet that already runs on 24 V for PLCs and I/O. The input stage accepts RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals, so it covers the common temperature and analog process loops in one unit. Three relay outputs plus one analog output give you both on/off switching for heaters or alarms and a retransmit or valve-position signal — the analog channel is typically used for a 4–20 mA retransmission to a recorder or a SCR power controller.
Panel cutout and front-panel sealing
The front face carries an IP66 rating, meaning it seals against hose-down and dust ingress when the gasket is properly seated — fine for food processing or washdown areas where the panel face gets sprayed.
RS-485 Modbus and control method
RS-485 with both CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols lets it talk to a PLC or SCADA without a protocol converter — the Modbus RTU map is standard, so commissioning is just setting the node ID and baud rate. Control method is selectable between On/Off and proportional PID with auto-tune, which covers simple limit control or closed-loop temperature regulation for ovens, extruders, and packaging seal bars.
