DIN-Rail Loop Controller for Critical Zones
The E5DC-CX2DBM-015: Outputs are analog + two relays, allowing one PID analog drive to an SSR or valve positioner plus two on/off alarms or event outputs. RS-485 communication with CompoWay/F or Modbus lets it push process values to a PLC or SCADA without extra I/O. Supply is 24VAC/DC; spring-cage terminals eliminate screw tightening, speeding panel assembly. IP20-rated, so it belongs inside an enclosed control cabinet, not exposed on the panel face.
Why DIN-Rail Over Panel-Mount?
If you're comparing the E5DC with the panel-mount E5CC-CX2ASM-804, the mounting is the first fork: DIN rail means no panel cutout, faster install and swap in a cabinet. The trade-off is IP20 (dust-tight but not water-resistant) versus the E5CC's IP66 – suitable only for interior cabinets. Power supply differs: this unit runs on 24VAC/DC; the E5CC-CX2ASM-804 expects 100-240VAC. If your panel already has a 24V rail, the E5DC avoids an extra power supply. Termination is spring-clamp on the E5DC versus screw terminals on the E5CC-CX2ASM-804. No wrong answer, but spring clamp snaps conductors faster and resists loosening from vibration. Rewiring a previously screw-terminated panel requires ferrule adapters. Output complement is the same – one analog and two relays – so control strategy transfers directly. Both have RS-485 Modbus.
